In 2022 and 2023, we shared web design trend predictions for the year ahead, and today, we’re excited to continue our tradition with this week’s episode — Web Design Trend Predictions for 2024. Of course, our goal as web designers is to create timeless web designs that can seamlessly evolve and grow with the business owners we serve. Still, we love taking note of the ways web design has evolved from year to year — and the specific features, styles, and approaches increasing in popularity. This week’s episode is a just-for-fun prediction episode, and we’re hopeful it inspires your creativity should you pursue a new web design in the year ahead.
Web Design Trend Predictions for 2024
Welcome to Episode 194 of The Brand It, Build It Podcast — our first episode of 2024 — I’m your host, Kelly Zugay, and today, I’m excited to share a handful of web design trend predictions for the year ahead!
At With Grace and Gold, we’re not just passionate about creating beautiful brands and web designs; we’re also here to share our expertise to help you stay ahead and create a forward-thinking brand and web design in the ever-evolving world of web design.
Trend 1: Prioritizing Responsive and Mobile Web Design
Our first prediction is a continued emphasis on responsive and mobile web design. With the increasing use of mobile devices, websites must be designed to provide a seamless and enjoyable experience across various screen sizes. We envision mobile designs just as beautifully-branded, detailed, and engaging as their desktop counterparts — creating an easy, welcoming, and seamless experience for visitors.
Trend 2: Redefining Minimalism
Using clean lines, embracing white space, and creating simplicity in navigation will remain essential. Not only will designers value creating engaging, minimal web designs — but we predict prospective clients and users will also appreciate more modern, minimal, to-the-point web design, where they can be seamlessly led toward the products or services they are seeking.
Trend 3: Using Layers, Textures, and Illustrations
We predict the year ahead will bring about a wider use of layers, textures, videos, and illustrations — dimensional, textural elements that will help to create an engaging and inviting web design. At With Grace and Gold, we love and value using videos, GIFs, and other textures for the wedding professionals we serve. The use of layers can help to show dimension and depth, and create a more immersive, experiential web design for visitors to explore and remember.
Trend 4: Embracing Statement-Making Bold Typography
Large, expressive fonts make a bold statement, enhancing visual appeal, and creating memorable online experiences. We predict bold typography choices are likely to be prominent in 2024 — especially when paired with a more minimal, sleek web design overall.
Trend 5: Using AI-Powered Features
This year, we predict businesses will prioritize the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) features like chatbots, personalized recommendations, and intelligent search functionality to enhance their user experiences.
We hope this episode of web design trend predictions for 2024 has sparked your creativity and has you looking forward to how your web design will change or evolve in the year ahead.
