Who to Ask for Feedback About Your Web Design

Welcome to Episode 174 of The Brand It, Build It Podcast: Who to Ask for Feedback About Your Web Design.

Whether you’ve worked hard to create your new web design, or you’ve hired a professional web designer to create your new web design, chances are, you’re ready to see what people think! For meaningful reasons, we feel so passionately about asking the right people for feedback about your web design. Here is who we recommend asking for feedback and why:

  • Members of your preferred audience. Your new web design should be created with your preferred audience in mind. The details of your web design should serve, educate, connect with, and guide your preferred audience to confidently choose to wrok with you. Therefore, gathering feedback from members of your preferred audience helps you to ensure the details of your web design will truly help your business to succeed and grow.
  • Past clients and customers. Your past clients and customers can speak to the quality and caliber of your work, how it feels to work with you and journey through your client experience, and the connection they felt and had with you and your business. When you gather feedback from your past clients and customers, you can confirm your clients’ and customers’ experiences, and ensure your new web design is aligned with your business in a purpose-driven way and lays a foundation for future growth and success.
  • Industry experts or mentors in your field. Fellow industry experts or mentors – especially those whose businesses you love and look up to –  can often speak to what has been valuable in their web design, and may be able to provide helpful feedback regarding your business and your web design. As experts in their field, they are thinking of your business from a business standpoint rather than a client or customer standpoint, which makes their feedback all the more valuable and helpful.

Though it can feel natural to seek feedback from spouses, friends, or family members, instead, we strongly recommend asking members of your preferred audience, your past clients and customers, and industry experts or mentors in your field.

In the end, if you’ve hired a professional designer – specifically a professional designer who has created meaningful results or has served business owners in your field – it is truly beneficial to be trusting of your designer, too. We often tell our clients: We will only present designs we believe will help to serve your audience and grow your business. So, no matter who you choose to gather feedback from, feedback from your chosen designer can be extremely valuable as well — as they are designing with your business and goals in mind.

We are so hopeful today’s episode equips you to seek and gather beneficial feedback for your new web design! Thanks for tuning in!
