Welcome to Episode 142 of the Brand It, Build It Podcast — our final new episode of 2022! Next week and the following, while we’re away on holiday break, I’ll be spotlighting two of our most popular episodes from 2022! This week’s episode is a personal favorite of mine — because, I’ll be sharing our web design trend predictions for 2023!
Something I love and value so much about our work at With Grace and Gold is being able to learn about and understand our clients’ business goals, uncover design solutions to align with their goals, and capture their unique style, approach, and expertise through elevated web design.
So, here are 3 web design trend predictions we have for 2023. Of course, these are only our fun predictions — and, truly, anything can happen in the year ahead! However, maybe these predictions will create a spark of creativity or prompt you to approach your web design in a fresh, new way in 2023.
Web Design Trend Predictions for 2023
- Bolder, editorial typography. In 2023, we predict web designs will use bolder, more editorial, magazine-style typography and layouts. We believe web designs will exude more confidence and style — so they can more effectively and confidently showcase business owners’ expertise, quality, and caliber of work. We foresee more magazine-style layouts — showcasing press features and business owners’ best work, while creating an engaging experience for visitors.
- Emphasis on a fine art aesthetic. We predict web designs in 2023 will emphasize a fine art aesthetic — a more elevated, quality-driven aesthetic, so business owners can confidently raise their prices, book fewer weddings or fewer clients at a higher price point, and grow their businesses with purpose. We predict web designers will focus on the quality of their work and how their style has been refined over the years, in order to connect with prospective clients who possess shared values. We envision a ‘less is more’ approach to web design, through which business owners’ expertise can be communicated more succinctly, and their expertise can be understood by visitors quickly.
- More curated portfolios. Lastly, we predict web designs in 2023 will use more curated portfolios — or feature a more curated collection of work. For business owners, particularly those who have been in business for several years, web design will be less about convincing prospective clients to work with you, and more about building meaningful connections with clients who see value and meaning in the quality and caliber of your work. With a more curated web design, we believe business owners will connect with prospective clients who will confidently hire them not only because of what they do, but also because of who they are and the unique perspective and expertise they bring.
Summed up, we believe web designs in 2023 will use a ‘less is more’ approach to more effectively communicate business owners’ expertise — while helping them to more confidently and seamlessly connect with prospective clients who possess shared values.
What do you think of our web design trend predictions for 2023? Or, what do you hope your web design will capture in the year ahead?
