Inquiries show you your prospective clients are interested in what you have to offer, and more importantly, inquiries show they are interested in you. Your prospective client took the extra step to reach out and see what you and your business are all about — so now it’s your turn to bring your prospective client from where they are to where they’d love to be. So, how do you turn your prospective clients into paying clients? Today, we’re excited to share our advice!
How to Turn an Inquiry Into a Paying Client
- Show Your Value: Beyond your products or services, what will your prospective client come away with? Beyond sending a bulleted list of the deliverables they will receive, how will your experience differ from others? What results can you give your prospective client? As an example, beyond brand and web design, we let our prospective clients know that they will be gaining a new sense of confidence in a new season of business ownership. We let them know that we are on their side, and will do everything we can to celebrate this season with them, and bring their Ideal Client their way. Don’t be afraid to share all the value you will bring to your prospective client. If you don’t share it with them — they may not know!
- Be Personal: Be sure to always address your potential clients by their name, and let them know that they are important to you. Take the time to explore your prospective client’s story and needs. After all, your job as a small business owner is to bring them from where they are today to where they want to be. The more information you can gather, and the more detailed you can be — the better equipped you will be to determine if your prospective client is your Ideal Client and can be served well by you.
- Follow Up: It’s OK to follow up with a prospective client if it’s been a few days since you’ve heard from them. We all have Inbox overwhelm every now and then, so it’s important to follow up and let your prospective client know you are thinking of them. This reminder could be the difference between your prospective client booking or moving on.
