How to Tell It’s Time to Pursue a New Brand and Web Design

Whether your small business is brand new, or you’ve been in business for years, it’s likely you have made adjustments to your business over time: Maybe you’ve added to or pared down your products and services, maybe you’ve refined your client experience so your process is more streamlined, or maybe you’ve spruced up your website little by little. 

Because so much of small business ownership is self-directed, it can be challenging to know when the best time to take action is: When is the right time to hire an administrative assistant? Do I need to hire a professional for help with social media marketing? When is the best time to pursue a new brand and web design?

Today, we’re excited to share what to look for in your business to determine it’s time to pursue a new brand and web design… signs that we took note of and followed ourselves as we pursued a new brand and web design for our business. 

  1. It’s time to pursue a new brand and web design, when you don’t feel as though your current online presence accurately reflects your expertise or the quality and caliber of your work. Oftentimes, when speaking with prospective clients at With Grace and Gold, I hear a similar reflection: That you have raised your prices or are hoping to raise your prices, that you’re looking toward booking higher-end clientele, that you’ve begun doing really high-quality — even luxury work — but your brand and web design don’t align with the quality of work you’re capable of producing. As a result, prospective clients don’t see the work you’re capable of producing, and you’re attracting clients different from who you’re hoping to attract. It’s a cycle that somehow only seems solvable by pursuing a new brand and web design — something foundational you can work from to ensure your online presence is rooted in purpose and designed to showcase your expertise in a connection-driven way. 
  2. When you’re ready to raise your prices, but your current brand and web design don’t create the foundation for doing so. Similarly, if you are holding onto a backlog of beautiful work you’ve done, or you’ve held off on raising your prices because your brand and web design don’t quite create the foundation you need — this can be a helpful indication that it’s the right time to pursue a new brand and web design. 
  3. When you no longer feel excited to update your Portfolio or Blog — because your current web design doesn’t support or align with your vision. There is something so special and enjoyable about having a web design you feel excited to use, update, and maintain. Overall, you might just feel ready to begin new season in your business — where your brand feels more closely aligned with your personality, approach, and expertise, and where your web design actually works on your behalf to lead and guide your visitors toward confidently booking your products or purchasing your services. 

For all of these reasons and more, choosing to pursue a new brand and web design isn’t so much about the age of your business — but about the goals you have for your business, and whether your current brand and web design are working to achieve those goals. We believe having a purpose-driven brand and web design is about more than having an online presence, but about knowing what is being presented about your business is truly equipping you for success and helping to move your business forward.
