Up until recently, Pinterest was not a high priority at With Grace and Gold. In fact, we rarely visited Pinterest; we used Pinterest only as a way to better understand our Clients’ design preferences. Over the past year, however, we have learned about the simple ways we can use Pinterest for business success. The truth is, using Pinterest has transformed our business — and today, we’re so excited to share how we have gone about leveraging Pinterest for business success!
Leveraging Pinterest for Long-Term Business Success
Embrace consistency.
Prospective Clients can come across your business in a variety of ways, and in a variety of places. Some may discover your business through a face-to-face conversation with you, while others may look your business up on Google and peruse your social media profiles before clicking on your Website. For these reasons, it’s essential for our social media profiles to present our brand and our business in a professional, positive way. If our Website presents our business one way, and our social media profiles present our business in another way — uh oh!
Challenge: Review your Pinterest profile from top to bottom. Are you using the same head shot as you are on other profiles? Are you using the same bio as you are on other profiles? Consistency is key!
Curate boards to reflect your brand and your areas of expertise.
While we love, love, love recipes, weddings, and decor — these topics simply aren’t aligned with our business. At With Grace and Gold, we know our prospective Clients are searching for information about small business branding and small business success, so our Pinterest Boards present exactly that — with a little personality, of course!
Challenge: Review your Pinterest boards from top to bottom. Are your boards the “answers” to the “questions” your prospective Clients have? If not, make unrelated boards private, so you can shine a spotlight on what your prospective Clients will need most!
Pin, pin, pin!
At With Grace and Gold, we use Buffer to schedule our Pinterest posts. That way, we can spend one day per week scheduling our Pinterest posts, and leave Buffer to take care of the rest. When we schedule our Pins, we schedule to a variety of our boards, and we also use #hashtags to help our Pins to be found. We recommend thinking about what your prospective Clients or Ideal Clients may be searching for: #wedding #weddings #photograph #photographs #photography #photographer…
Challenge: Invest in Buffer and begin scheduling your Pins! Put Buffer to work for you, and watch your reach grow and grow.
Since implementing the strategy we have shared above, a vast majority of our traffic has come from Pinterest! It’s really amazing how a concentrated effort, like the efforts we’ve described above, can make a huge difference in your business!
