1. Utilize clean, white space.  Utilizing clean, white space can give your website a fresh and organized appearance. It can allow your content — your words and images — to shine. Many times, business owners try to fit in as much information as they can, believing more information will showcase more expertise or better quality. However, less is truly more; white space can allow your design space to breathe — so your words and content can truly shine.
2. Display a cohesive brand.  As humans, it’s natural to be drawn to a variety of colors, patterns, and font styles — but which of these are on-brand for your business. At With Grace and Gold, we believe branding is a blend of your preferences and your Ideal Client’s preferences. (After all, your Ideal Client should be drawn to your brand and online presence.) Make sure your website uses limited colors, patterns, and font styles consistently. That way, your website will look as professional and polished as can be.
3. Use professional photography.  These days, professional photography is often a differentiating factor for small business owners. Professional photography communicates the quality behind your business. 4. Ensure your navigation is user-friendly. This is essential! Your navigation menu should be clear and easy to use. That way, your visitors can access what they are looking for quickly and easily. 5. Proofreading and testing.  Every now and then, take a peek through your website and ensure that your spelling and grammar are correct. Double-check that every link is in working order.  Be sure that all information is current and relevant, too! Small businesses grow, change, and evolve — so remember to peek at your online home to ensure it’s working for your business.
