Micaela is a Guelph, Ontario, Canada based photographer who has such a beautiful gift for capturing authentic love stories. When we began the design process, Micaela shared with us that her heart is for celebrating marriage. Her values and her vision shine through in every photograph — and we are just so blown away by Micaela’s talent. It was an honor and a joy to create a brand and web design for Micaela — and to help her to begin a polished, purposeful season in her business journey!

We asked Micaela to share her experience with us:

How did you feel about your business before working with With Grace and Gold?

Before working with With Grace and Gold, I was excited about my business, but it didn’t seem quite real to me because it didn’t have a face to it. I was still just a girl with a camera, and I felt like I couldn’t really charge people until I had a brand and website to back me up. I’m artistic in more ways than one, and I thought I could put them together by myself, but I’m too much of a perfectionist. I tried several times to make my own logo, and never was confident with it; I bought website themes and tried to customize them and wasn’t happy, and then switched to Showit which gave me more design freedom but was just overwhelmed and didn’t have the time to figure out how to get my site looking how I wanted it. I had been working to turn my business from a dream to a reality for over a year, and I finally just realized that having complete control over my brand wasn’t worth the hours of designing and redesigning and being unhappy and starting all over again. I was wasting time! I needed to trust someone who knew what they were doing to take my vision and turn it into a reality.

How do you feel about your business after working with With Grace and Gold?

Now I feel confident about my brand, I feel confident about my website, and I feel confident that I can charge what I’m worth because the way I present my brand and my work shows that I take myself seriously! My new brand and website reflect what I’ve been talking people’s ears off about when it comes to my business, so I am no longer just “Micaela, the girl with the camera and the big dreams,” but also “Micaela, the business owner whose online presence matches who she is offline and speaks to the quality of her work!”

How would you sum up your experience with With Grace and Gold?

Andra and Kelly really do their homework! The design process started with a questionnaire, and they took my messy jumble of thoughts and pulled out what I didn’t even know I was trying to say in order to create a gorgeous brand design for me. It was like they knew me and my brand even better than I did!

And they did this every step of the way, too – during the refinement process, sometimes there was something about the designs that just wasn’t resonating with me, and I didn’t even know how to explain it. So I just wrote out my rambly thoughts, and they somehow read my mind and made the designs look exactly how I didn’t even know I wanted them to look.

I feel like they just GET me!

They were patient with me, they rolled with my uncertainty and my perfectionism, and they knew exactly what to do to translate my mess of ideas into an incredibly beautiful, cohesive, brand that really reflects ME! These ladies are so sweet, genuine, talented, and hardworking! They have systems for their business that made the design process go so quickly and smoothly. They went above and beyond to make me feel well-informed and taken care of at every single step!

They produce truly beautiful work, and they knew exactly how to boil down all the parts of my business and my personality into a clear, cohesive brand that speaks to my ideal client, even though I’m a new business owner still trying to figure it all out for myself. And at each step they articulated that purpose so that I knew the reasons behind their choices and could make decisions based on the “why” rather than just whether or not it looked pretty!
